As a beginner you will learn: 

Sewing machine basics

• Parts of sewing machine (presser foot, bobbin, feed dogs, etc)
• How to thread the machine and wind the bobbin
• How to adjust stitch length and tension
• Practise sewing straight and curved lines

What you need to bring:

Bring your own sewing machine, a basic sewing kit if you have one, including scissors, tape measure, pins etc. 

Fabric and thread, for making cushion cover or a tote bag
